Take That Tickets
The year was 1990, punk was long gone, new wave was all but over, and grunge was putting teens in flannel shirts and baggy pants. The biggest hit of that year was Sinead O’Connor’s “Nothing Compares 2 U”, written by Prince.
When every American teenage girl was going crazy for New Kids on the Block, there was a British pop group forming, getting ready to take England and Europe by storm – “Take That”! Outside of England, “Take That” is somewhat unknown, but they were the Beatles, the Duran Duran, and the N’Sync of that British generation. Tickets to Take That concerts were impossible to get, and teens clamored to get their hands on tour dates before anyone else. Take That merchandise sold more than any other band of the time. And now, almost 20 years later, Take That is hitting the tour circuit again, in support of their new CD, “The Circus,” which went platinum in its very first week on the shelves.

Tour dates for “Take That presents The Circus Live” went on sale in December, 2008, and the Take That tour because the fastest selling UK tour in history, a record that had stood for almost 20 years.
Tickets for the Take That tour are obviously extremely hard to come by, and if you can get your hands on them, they are expensive.
For those of you who missed the initial Take That bandwagon, Take That consists of five boys from Manchester, England – Robbie Williams, Gary Barlow, Howard Donald, Jason Orange, and Mark Owen. Robbie Williams, who American audiences know as the singer of the much-loved “Angels” (sung by American Idol runner-up, David Archuleta), left the group to pursue his solo career in 1996 (Thanks Jenny!), but was reportedly back on board for the Circus album and tour.
Take That went on to have eleven #1 singles in England, including the latest single, “Greatest Day.” It seems that even after all these years, they haven’t lost their touch! The boys may be in their mid-30’s now, but they are still rocking just like they were in their teens. Their old fans are still with them and they’re earning new fans everyday.
Remarkably, Take That has sold out four nights in July at London’s Wembley Stadium! Take That Wembley tickets are simply impossible to come by. They are making stops throughout Great Britain – Manchester, Glasgow, Cardiff, Dublin, Coventry, and Sunderland, and these tickets are also sold out. It seems that even after almost 20 years, Take That concert tickets are still hard to come by.
If you aren’t lucky enough to get to see Take That in concert, live, there are plenty of Take That DVDs available online. The “Beautiful World” DVD, released in 2008, is a live Take That concert, and “For the Record: Take That” offers us all a look at what the boys were going through during their heyday.
However, no DVD will take the place of seeing Take That live in concert. Whether you see Take That in Wembley or travel up to Manchester, the trip (and the price you will pay!) will be worth it. Anyone who has seen footage of their latest tour dates on YouTube know that it is an impressive show and one you won’t soon forget.
